This year, the Bootneck Yomp event will take in early November.

Bootneck Yomp 2010 will be a 6-day speed march covering 380 miles, carrying 30 lbs of kit from North of England to Edinburgh, Dundee, Arbroath, Perth, Crianlarich and Glencoe, completing at the Commando Memorial, Spean Bridge. The aim is to make a significant difference to the lives of Royal Marines - and families - injured on operations, by raising £500,000 for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF).

The project is not a macho stunt. As per last year's very successful rehearsal, the emphasis is placed on demonstrating Royal Marines Commando qualities that separates this particular challenge from other similar events. It is meant to be arduous, and attract attention in being so.

We have been successful in attracting some key sponsors. However this year we intend to achieve as much corporate sponsorship as possible. All ideas/queries on this should contact Rosalind Baker on enquiries@bootneckyomp.com

Participants are all former Royal Marines Commandos. Anyone wishing to participate, or join the team at any stage of the event should contact enquiries@bootneckyomp.com
